John H. Lee

John Hubert Lee, 83, of Venice, Fla., formerly of New York, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012.

Mr. Lee served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Standard Oil, was an assistant manager for Acme Stores, served as retail district manager for Shasta Beverage Company, was a reporter for the United Press and Middletowne Times Herald and authored a work entitled “Impressions.”

A loving husband and father, John is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 54 years; children, John (Laura), of Bangor, Maine, Laurie (Jay) of Winterport, Maine, Carolyn (Jay) of Bow, N.H., and Chris of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren, Denise, Erica, Danielle, Jayme, Dana and Peter; and his brother, Dennis, of Venice, Fla.

Services: A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Epiphany Cathedral, with inurnment in Epiphany Memorial Garden. Farley Funeral Home & Crematory, Venice Chapel, handled arrangements.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Mr. Lee’s memory to Epiphany Cathedral.
