Christopher C. Kellogg
Christopher Charles Kellogg, 82, of Venice Fla., passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012.
Chris was born in Wilton, N.H., Jan. 27, 1930, to Virginia M. and Glenn W. Kellogg.
A third-generation printer, when in the Marines Chris printed textbooks for the Marine Corps schools at Quantico, Va. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology; production manager at Riverside Press, Boston, Mass., and Christian Board of Publication in St. Louis, Mo.; production and design manager of the Harvard University Press, Yale University Press and University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Press; and held management positions with Houghton Mifflin, John Wright and Puritan Press.
Chris was a proud Mason (32nd degree), and he enjoyed the service activities and support of his brothers in the Sarasota Sahib Oriental Band.
Chris is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Kellogg of Venice, Fla.
Survivors include children Paul Kellogg, Cynthia Jeffrey and Craig Kellogg; six grandchildren, Katherine and Elizabeth Kellogg, John and Conner Jeffrey and Virginia and Craig Jr. Kellogg; and three stepgrandchildren, Christopher, James and Brian Major.
Services: A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at St. Mark’s Episcopal church, 508 Riviera St., Venice. Arrangements are by Kays Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Venice.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Sahib Shrine, Sarasota, for its children’s hospital fund.
