Clyde Shattuck
Clyde Shattuck, 87, went to be with his Savior Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012.
Clyde was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Ionia, Mich. He and his family moved to the Venice area and have lived here since 1963.
Clyde was a sergeant in the 32nd Red Arrow Division, and served in the Philippines and New Guinea during World War II. He was a security guard in Japan for several months after the war. He was a charter member of Calvary Bible Church, Venice, and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was a gentle person, loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, June; daughters, Penny (Bobby) Roberts of Kodak, Tenn., and Diana Shattuck of Crescent City, Fla.; son, Max (Nancy) of Venice; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Scotty in 1969.
