Elsa W. Denno
Elsa Wiig Denno, a 26-year resident of Venice, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, due to complications of cancer.
Born Jan. 27, 1922, at Port Richmond, Staten Island, N.Y., she graduated from Curtis High School on Staten Island, and Long Island University.
She worked as an economist and statistician for Shell Oil, Business Week and Travelers Insurance early in her career, and later in her career as a proposal editor for Planning Research Corporation. She married Proctor Denno Jr., of Staten Island, in 1949; he died in 2005. She had been active in the Plantation and Myrtle Trace associations, and Venice Theatre in Venice, until 2012. She is survived by her son Charles and his wife, Kimberley, of Herndon, Va.
