Patricia “Pat” J. Cope of Venice, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012. She was born March 3, 1934, in Springfield, Ill. She lived in Indianapolis, Ind., until she moved to Venice, in 1970.

Pat was active in the community and was a well-known local real estate agent for more than 30 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Loren R. Cope; her son, Michael R. Cope; her second husband, Phillippe Candlers; her brother, William Wood; and her sister, Carole Martin. Survivors include her daughter, Susan K. Southwick (David); along with five grandchildren, Angela Nemetz, Christina Southwick, Matthew Southwick, Mackenzie Southwick and Nichole Cope; and five great-grandchildren.

Services: Visitation will be at noon, Friday, Oct. 5, at Ewing Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., also at Ewing Funeral Home, ending with a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Venice Memorial Gardens on Center Road. The family will be gathering at the Saltwater Cafe at 5 p.m. in remembrance of Patricia. Arrangements are by Ewing Funeral Home.
