Vital Michael Selevitch, 84, of Venice, formerly of New Bedford, Mass., passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. He was born Dec. 7, 1928.

Vital worked at Polaroid for more than 30 years in Waltham and New Bedford, Mass. He was a blood donor for many years in both Massachusetts and Florida. Vital worked for the Sarasota County Parks Department and was also a member of American Legion Post 159 for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ilene, of Venice; sons, Robert (Karen) Selevitch of Revere, Mass., Rick Johnson, John Selevitch of Mint Hill, N.C., Michael Selevitch of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joseph (Jennifer) Selevitch of Huntersville, N.C.; grandchildren, Sara Selevitch and Steven Selevitch, both of Revere, Mass., Andrew Selevitch of Venice and Stephanie (Darren) Selevitch-White of Los Angeles, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
