Venice High’s boys golf team came through with a close victory over host Port Charlotte and Charlotte in a tri-match Monday at the Port Charlotte Golf Club.

The match was a cliffhanger, with Venice winning with a 161 score, one stroke ahead of Port Charlotte (162) and three ahead of Charlotte (164). Venice’s Adam Stoutjesdyk was the medalist with a one-over par 37, one stroke ahead of Port Charlotte’s Kyle Kemp and Charlotte’s Aric Popovich, who shot 38.
