For the first time since 1996 and the second time in school history, the Venice High girls golf team won the nine-team Donald Ross Invitational Tournament, held Monday at Sara Bay Country Club in Sarasota.
The Indians, who improved their record to a perfect 30-0 with the win, shot a 251. Lemon Bay (273) and Manatee (284) followed, but Venice thoroughly dominated the 18-hole tournament.
