A few months from now, the dilapidated gymnasium at the South County Family YMCA will be unrecognizable to Venetians who have witnessed the facility’s aging over the last two and a half decades.

Last week the Y began construction on a $750,000 renovation of the 24,000-square-foot building that contains the volleyball and basketball courts as well as the gymnastics facility.
