The Venice Indians are dropping down a classification in football next season — from 7A to 6A — but if Friday night’s spring game was a sign of what’s to come, the Indians’ caliber of play is about to take a giant step up.

Venice traveled to perennial powerhouse Lakeland and dominated the six-time state champions in every phase of the game, blanking the Dreadnaughts 21-0 at Bryant Stadium.
